Teachers are always trying to get students to enjoy learning, which "can" be a challenge. Their impressive research was mind-blowing and an exercise in strength (to carry it all around).

This team wants to help students get better at their math skills. They took an innovative approach using apps, social media and websites in order to give parents better resources to help their kids master their skills.

Presentation: Team 14429, Life Gate Lions Lego Waffle
This "SMART" team presented with energy, even though they were not able to project their presentation. They adapted quickly and didn't miss a step. The judges were blown away with their enthusiasm as they "RAP-PED" their way to this award.

Core Values Awards

Core Values Inspiration: Team 1386, KCHS Stars 1
This very polite and supportive team works to mentor younger teams by inspiring a passion for FLL and core values that was clearly evident. They reach for the stars in everything they do!

Teamwork: Team 5804, Triple L
It is not always easy to solve a problem as a group, especially when you are limited on time. This team worked together *calmly* to try multiple solutions and never stopped listening to each other's ideas. This team carries a big stick, but we are all lucky that is just a "Talking Stick".

Gracious Professionalism: Team 7693, Super Scouts Purple
This polite and professional team exuded confidence and enthusiasm that impressed us with their humble demeanor. With their very own dictionary, it is no wonder they communicated effectively and professionally.

Judges Awards

Judges Award: Team 5947, Golden Gears
We want to recognize a team that clearly demonstrated the attitude and values that FLL is based on. The Judges saw a lot of teams and one stood out for its uniqueness and perseverance. They are small but determined and capitalize on their difference to work together.

Against All Odds Award: Team 10343, Lego Zono
This team had strong beginnings and showed strong unity and kindness. Unfortunately, several members had to drop out over time due to a variety of reasons, but not lack of commitment. For today's presentation, 3 young men bonded together and wowed the judges, coaches and their peers.

Rising Star: Team KCHS Stars 2
This team said they have no previous experience with Legos or programming, but it is obvious just how hard they have worked to learn. Look out for this very appropriate winner that we expect to see more of next season.
